The Active Arts Award honors exemplary achievement in the theater arts as well as a commitment to and support of emerging artists and theater companies.  The recipient is determined through a nominating process that includes The Active Theater staff, board of trustees, and respected collaborators.

The 2013 Award was presented to Terry Schreiber at our Annual Spring Gala on Monday April 22nd. Terry shared the following:

Dear Nathaniel and Active Theater,
Pardon the delay in once more expressing my gratitude for selecting me for your Achievement Award. Tuesday was a long and busy day of teaching but I savored the event all day long with a very nice inner glow. I most humbly thank you once more! You were so gracious, supportive and giving. The Statue, shines brightly in my office until I can find THE proper place for it in our Lobby. I shall always treasure it and the gift of your theatre to mine. As I said Monday night, "You rekindled the light that made the 70's spirit of 'off-off' so remarkable". I know the torch is in safe and solid hands with you and your GROUP and you will guard it and carry it forward with great success.
                                                                           With heartfelt appreciation, Terry
